Angela Ciccia

Angela Hein Ciccia, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences. Dr. Ciccia’s teaching interests focus on anatomy and physiology, neuroscience of communication disorders, adult language disorders, and motor speech disorders. Dr. Ciccia is the faculty advisor for the Case chapter of the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) and is the undergraduate advisor.

Dr. Ciccia’s research interests focus on social information processing skills of typically developing adolescents and adolescents with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Her current research projects focus on the use of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to identify the underlying functional neuroanatomy involved in social information processing in teens. Her current research is done in conjunction with the Department of Radiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Clinically, Dr. Ciccia’s sees adolescent and adult clients with acquired neurogenic communication disorders for the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center.
